ISSF Events
These are the Olympic Style events – one handed precision shooting, using a .22 standard pistol, air pistol or free pistol except for the centre fire event which is best shot with a centre fire revolver/pistol with a one handed orthopaedic grip.
Air Pistol
60 shots in 90 minutes
(ladies air pistol:-40 shots in 60 mins)
A 17cm square target at 10 metres
A good event to hone your skills for all the other matches, both ISSF and Service style
50 m Pistol (free pistol)
60 shots in 120 minutes
Target at 50 metres
Free pistol has a very light trigger.
A challenging event.
Rapid Fire
60 shots at 25 metres:-
One shot on each of 5 targets
In 8 seconds (x2)
Then 6 seconds (x2)
Then 4 seconds (x2)Then repeat
Standard Pistol
60 shots at 25 metres:-
5 shots in 150 secs (x4)
5 shots in 20 secs (x4)
5 shots in 10 secs (x4)
Centre Fire
60 shots at 25 metres:-
5 shots in 5 minutes (x6)
30 shots duelling
There is the option of using a 22 in which case it’s called 25 metre pistol!
Duelling
Target turns away for 7 seconds. When the target faces there is 3 seconds to raise your arm from a 45 degree angle and fire one shot. Target turns away again for 7 seconds, faces again for 3 seconds etc, and it does this for 5 shots. Then score & patch and repeat 6 times
